Usability
Testing
Contextual Inquiry
I have conducted contextual
inquiry at our client site in UK. The tasks
involve writing a U-Test plan, contacting
customer sites, recruiting participants, creating
task sheet.. Conducting user interviews after
the contextual inquiry session. |

.
Lab Testing.

I have used portable
Usability test lab at a user conference
in US. A user conference is a best location
to get your users at one place and conduct
test. It also give you the advantage to
test a pre release build. And for the users,
they also feel that the are heard in your
organization. This helps build customer
trust.
The tasks involve writing a U-Test plan,
contacting customer, recruiting participants,
creating task sheet, recording screen movements
and user expressions. Analysis of movie
clips and comments. Presentation to management
and follow up.

Remote Testing:
I have even done
remote testing using webEx, Netmeeting and
our proprietary desktop sharing application.
The activities in a remote testing may vary.
One method of doing a Remote testing is
that the test application is loaded on a
machine and the user is accessing this remotely.
In this case the speed is very slow.
On the other hand the test application can
be loaded on the user side and the observers
can site remotely and take the comments.
This method we have found better..
